Portrait of a Granite State Graduate

Building a Portrait of a Granite State Graduate

We need a new conversation about public education in New Hampshire, and that starts with building a Portrait of a Granite State Graduate.

Never in the course of New Hampshire history have we had an inclusive conversation about the purpose of our public education system. The New Hampshire Constitution has a little guidance, and that was written in 1784 with virtually no updates along the way. For far too long we’ve been guided by the ideas of a few without the input of our communities. We need to start with just one question:

What are our hopes for New Hampshire students?

The answers collected from this one question from a broad range of community members from New Hampshire’s diverse counties, socioeconomic backgrounds, experiences, and political identities will help us move forward with a public education system that everyone is excited to invest and reinvest in year after year.

The future of New Hampshire’s public education system, including adequate and fair funding, depends on this conversation. We hope you’ll join us.

We’re crowdsourcing ideas from all perspectives in the state to build this portriat.
